BBC Gardeners' World at Howards

Please note that, as a wholesale Nursery, we do not sell direct to the public but you can order your bare root irises via our near neighbour Peter Beales Roses.

Broadcast - BBC 2 - 8:30pm 2nd August 2013

BBC Gardeners' World presenter, Carol Klein, has recently been filming at Howard Nurseries.

A team of five including Carol spend just under 10 hours filming for a special feature on BBC Gardeners World.

The day was mainly spent in a windy 15 acre field of irises. The Nursery footage was used to link into footage at the Gardeners' World garden on how to propagate irises.

David Howard, Carol Klein and Christine Howard

Carol first visited the nursery in 1988 when she was a customer with her nursery Glebe Cottage Plants. Over the years she has got to know the owner, David Howard, through being a customer and putting stands together at various shows such as the Chelsea Flower show and NEC Gardeners' World.

As you can see from the images below, the iris fields are a spectacular sight when in flower and this will be the first time they have been used for filming.
